Crystal Blue Copper: Product Overview

Crystal Blue Copper is a copper-based contact fungicide containing Copper Oxychloride 50% WP. Crystal Crop Protection describes its fine particles as adhering to treated leaves and gradually releasing copper ions.

FRAC classifies inorganic copper in Group M01, a multi-site contact group generally considered low resistance risk. Blue Copper remains a label-controlled pesticide: FRAC classification does not authorise an unlisted crop, disease, mixture or dose.

  1. Surface deposit: the contact formulation remains primarily on the treated plant surface.
  2. Copper release: available moisture supports gradual release of copper ions from the deposit.
  3. Multi-site disruption: copper interferes with multiple proteins and enzyme systems in susceptible target organisms. It must not be presented as a fully systemic rescue treatment.

How to applyApplication, Safety and Resistance Stewardship
  • Confirm the exact crop, disease, rate, water volume, timing and harvest direction on the current physical label before spraying.
  • Because this is a contact product, use the label-specified equipment and obtain uniform coverage without runoff. Do not estimate the treated area from pack size.
  • Avoid breathing WP dust. Wear all label-required PPE while measuring, mixing and spraying; wash after handling.
  • Keep product, spray liquid, washings and packaging away from food, feed, children, animals, ponds, drains and waterways. Copper pesticide labels warn of aquatic hazard.
  • No tank-mix, antibiotic, fertiliser, adjuvant or simultaneous-use advice is provided here.

FRAC considers M01 a low-resistance-risk multi-site group, but stewardship still matters. Avoid unnecessary repeats and use a separately applied different-group product only where its own current Indian label covers the crop, disease and application window.
